Imaging Made Easy

To scan an image from a TWAIN Compliant scanner into a MOMS AT Patient Chart its as simple as Opening the Documents Tab, Entering Edit Mode, and Selecting Scan Image. Most TWAIN Compliant scanners are compatible with MOMS AT, however, due to the many different TWAIN driver manufactures and slight variations in the implementation of TWAIN it is not guaranteed that your scanner will work. Additionally Multi-Page Documents that are scanned using a compatible sheet-feed Scanner should automatically be scanned into MOMS AT as a Multi-Page PDF.

Document Storage

Documents such as Word Documents and Excel Spreadsheets can easily be stored along-side scanned images to provide text information such as referral letters or visit documentation (dictations.) While the Documents and Imaging Capability is provided at no additional cost to MOMS AT users, you must have a licensed installation of Microsoft's Word or Excel in order to take advantage of this feature.

Scanning and Terminal Services

Scanning from your Desktop is easy, but if you are using Terminal Services to run your applications, you may be in for a suprise. There is currently nothing built into Citrix or Terminal Services that allows for the server to use the scanner located on your desktop, thus it is normally impossible to scan under Terminal Services. Fortunately there is a company known as Remote-Scan that has developed a solution for the problem. The Remote-Scan product allows your local scanner to be used even under Terminal Services thus allowing any TWAIN Compliant application to use your scanner.
